There were 5 rounds of, mostly pictorial, questions and at the end of each round the teams were either level pegging or just one point apart.
Chris (here on the left, thanking the teams for participating) set the questions, one of which was a picture of a cowslip, which Chris had assumed would be a doddle. Amazingly, of all the pictures, this one projected as white on the screen and so both teams were stumped and unable to identify it! Both the audience and teams were shown the picture on the laptop screen, which was fine. No disadvantage ensued – a gremlin clearly joined us on the night.
The final result was a win for Ascot, 39 points to Sunningdale’s 38.
Below, Sunningdale’s Chairman, Brian, presents the trophy to Jim.
The audience had their own small quiz – identifying various plants and places. Lucy won a pot plant as the outright winner.
The evening rounded off with a buffet supper and plenty of chat. Many thanks to the teams and to the buffet providers.
